How Utah paycheck taxes work

Utah applies a flat 4.45% state income tax to taxable wages, on top of federal income tax and FICA.

Note: Flat 4.45% for 2026 (SB 60). Utah uses a taxpayer credit that phases out with income (excluded from estimate).

Everyone also pays federal income tax (progressive brackets from 10% to 37%) and FICA: 6.2% Social Security (on wages up to $184,500) and 1.45% Medicare.
